FAQs
Can I use this card for any travel outside of work?
No, this allowance is intended for commuting to work only. Feel free to contact METRO for a personal card.
Do I have to use this everyday, or can I continue driving sometimes?
Yes, you can continue driving sometimes if that is more convenient. The Ride METRO card is a benefit the county offers, but not a requirement.
What if I run out of the $60 allowance during the month? Can I request more?
No, the county is only providing the $60 for the month. If you need more, you will need to get an additional card from METRO on your own.
Do I have to use all $60 each month?
No, you are not required to use the full amount each month. If you don’t use it all in one month, you will keep the balance that you have until you get down to $10, then it will replenish to $60.
What if I lose my card or it expires?
Simply email Benefits & Wellness and we will reissue a new card to you for a $5 fee: benefits@harriscountytx.gov.
How long does it take to get signed up for this program?
The total time from the moment you send the email request to receive your card is about 3-5 business days. Once we receive your email, we will send a digital agreement for you to sign. After we receive the signed agreement from you, we will mail your physical card to your shipping address on file (please allow 2-3 business days for shipping).
